One of the things my team has been praying into has been opportunities to help with some children’s ministry and if you’ve been keeping up with our story we came in contact with a church that has a children’s ministry that meets multiple times a week. The overseer of the children’s ministry gave us the go ahead to help and actually asked me to lead the children through a story in the Bible. I had heard that they had shared about some classics like David and Goliath, Joshua and the wall of Jericho, Joseph and his coat and some others. As the leader went through some of the stories they had already been through I had remembered the encounter I had with the children that were begging and the verse came to me again. I asked if I could share the verse about Jesus with the children and they said it was a good choice and that they hadn’t used that one yet. The passage I was thinking about was from Mark 10: 13-16. We were also asked to help with face painting and getting a craft together that went with the teaching. So my team and I left and started planning what a good craft would be for that specific Bible story. As I was reading over the passage in the Bible the verse about “receiving the kingdom of heaven like a child” kept sticking out to me, so I suggested that we have the kids draw what they think the kingdom of heaven looked like. After some discussion on how we could present it my team and I agreed that this would be a good craft for the kids to engage in. The day of the meeting there were 10 kids that showed up ready for the event. We started off with a couple of songs with some dances. One of the memebers from my team actually helped lead the kids in some of the dances.

After the dancing I told the story of when Jesus tells the disciples how he feels about the children and asked them if they knew that Jesus loved them. I had some of the kids answer and we talked about how Jesus was God’s son and that He loved us so much that he took our place in punishment. After the story I asked them to draw what they thought the kingdom of God looked like, because at the end of the verse it talked about receiving the kingdom of God. We spent about 20 minutes letting the kids draw what they thought the kingdom of God looked like and after we let them talk about their drawings to the class.

The kids loved it! They really got into the details and story behind what they thought. After we finished up the drawings we went right into a game and face painting.

All in all it was another great day of ministry. It was so cool getting to walk in the utmost confidence that we were obeying the Father’s will through that opportunity. God is so good! I was in accordance to His will and it was such a blessing to me and to other people that were involved!

SIDE-NOTE: I met with a new pastor recently and he informed me of some more ministry opportunities that my team and I could help with. Please pray for all of those opportunities and that God would open doors for my team and I.
Please also pray for continued wisdom, discernment, and diligence in my leadership. Pray that the LORD would continue to speak clearly to me and that I would obey.
Thank you for your prayers I hope you can see how the LORD is answering.

  1. Anthony, thank you for continuing to let us know what’s happening. I love the stories. I love how the LORD continues to be involved in what y’all are doing. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

  2. Isn’t that how all ministry should be. Folks in one accord, confident in the Spirit’s leading, and each working a different part as gifted? Love it!

  3. I’m so glad we have this ability to stay connected! It’s been such a blessing knowing that I am being prayed for and that the mission has been encouraging.
Thank you for all the support.
